This workshop is all about how to develop your painting using various layers of transparent watercolor to create successful and luminous watercolors. Students will use their own reference materials to create their compositions and value sketches. Kie will demonstrate various techniques for applying the paint in layers. Students will have lots of hands on time to paint and Kie will provide both group demonstrations as well as one on one time with students.
This is a fast paced and fun workshop and is an opportunity to gain new painting insights as well to develop your painting skills.
Kie Johnson has earned her signature membership with the Georgia Watercolor Society. She currently exhibits her paintings in local, state, national and international shows. After she retired from teaching art for 30 years in the public school she now devotes her time to teaching adults watercolor classes and enjoying her own painting journey.
Cost: $145 for OCAF members; $155 for non-members

A seven week Technique Class
TECHNIQUES IN WATERCOLOR
for beginners and non-beginners alike
on the following Wednesdays
September 9th, 16th, 23rd, & 30th and October 7th, 14th & 21st
THIS CLASS IS FULL - PLEASE SEE FUTURE DATES
Class Description: Students will become introduced to watercolor materials including brushes, paints and papers. Basic painting techniques will be taught for control of paints and variety of watercolor processes. Students will be introduced to color theory, color mixing, values studies, glazing, negative painting, as well as pouring and blending. This class is designed to provide the beginning and intermediate student essential skills for becoming a successful watercolorist.
Cost: $180 for OCAF members; $190 for non-members
